These terms and conditions govern the use of the Leni website and the purchase of products from us. By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you have any questions, please email us at hello@leni.co.uk before purchasing.

1. About Us

Leni is a small independent handmade clothing business based in the United Kingdom. We make and sell handmade shirts and shorts in small batches. For enquiries, contact us at hello@leni.co.uk.

2. Orders & Payment

All orders are placed through our website and processed via Stripe, a secure third-party payment provider. We accept major debit and credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Payment is taken in full at the time of ordering.

Once your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. This confirmation is an acknowledgement that we have received your order, not acceptance of a contract. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order if we are unable to fulfil it (for example, due to stock issues or an error in pricing), in which case a full refund will be issued.

All prices are shown in GBP (£) and include VAT where applicable. Prices are subject to change without notice, but changes will not affect orders already confirmed.

3. Pre-orders

Pre-orders are accepted for items we do not currently have in stock. By placing a pre-order, you are committing to purchasing the item and payment is taken at the time of ordering.

  • Typical pre-order turnaround is 2–3 weeks from the date of payment.
  • We will keep you informed of progress by email and notify you when your order ships.
  • In the unlikely event we cannot fulfil your pre-order, you will receive a full refund within 5 working days.
  • Pre-order timescales are estimates and may vary. We will notify you of any significant delays.

Because pre-ordered items are made specifically for you, we are unable to accept cancellations once production has begun, unless the item is faulty or not as described. Please ensure you are happy with your size and product selection before completing your order.

4. Shipping

We ship all orders from the United Kingdom. Standard shipping is included free of charge on all UK orders.

UK Shipping

  • In-stock items: dispatched within 3–5 working days.
  • Pre-orders: dispatched within 2–3 weeks of order placement.
  • Delivery is via Royal Mail Tracked 48 or equivalent. You will receive a tracking number by email.

International Shipping

International shipping is available on request. Please email us at hello@leni.co.uk before placing your order for a shipping quote. Additional customs charges or import duties may apply for orders outside the UK — these are the responsibility of the buyer.

We are not responsible for delays caused by postal services, customs, or circumstances outside our control. If your parcel does not arrive within the expected timeframe, please contact us and we will do our best to assist.

5. Returns & Exchanges

We want you to love your Leni piece. If something isn't right, please get in touch and we'll do our best to help.

In-stock items

You have the right to return in-stock items within 14 days of receiving your order, provided the item is unworn, unwashed, and in its original condition. To initiate a return, please email hello@leni.co.uk with your order details.

  • Return postage costs are the responsibility of the buyer unless the item is faulty or not as described.
  • Once the returned item is received and inspected, a refund will be issued to your original payment method within 5 working days.
  • We recommend using a tracked service for returns, as we cannot be responsible for parcels lost in transit.

Pre-ordered & made-to-order items

Because pre-ordered pieces are made specifically for you, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges unless the item is faulty or significantly not as described. If you believe your item has a fault, please contact us within 7 days of receipt with photos and a description of the issue.

Faulty items

If your item arrives damaged or faulty, please email us at hello@leni.co.uk within 7 days of receipt. We will either replace the item or issue a full refund, including return postage costs.

6. Products

All Leni products are handmade, which means there may be small natural variations between pieces. This is a feature of handmade clothing, not a defect. We take care to ensure every piece meets our quality standards before dispatch.

Product photographs are taken to accurately represent the items but colours may appear slightly different depending on your screen settings. If you have questions about a specific product, please contact us before ordering.

Sizing guides are provided on product listings where possible. If you are between sizes or have specific measurements you'd like us to work to (particularly for pre-orders), please include these in the notes field when ordering.

7. Liability

Our liability to you in connection with any order will not exceed the total price charged for the relevant items. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of our website or purchase of our products.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other matter where liability cannot be limited or excluded by law.

These terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

8. Privacy

We collect and process your personal data only as necessary to fulfil your order and communicate with you about it. This includes your name, email address, shipping address, and order details. We do not sell or share your data with third parties, except as required to process payments (Stripe) and ship your order (Royal Mail / courier services).

If you opted in to marketing communications at the time of ordering, we may occasionally send you updates about new products. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing us or clicking the unsubscribe link in any email.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
